ArchivedGay marriage in MassachusettsSource, please. Last time I saw a number like that, Cameron was being cited, not the CDC. And his research methodology was atrocious. Try telling that to these folks... oh, wait, you just said it to someone who's been partnered for nine years -- which beats out most straight marriages. Oops. If you want to argue that gay relationships are shorter than heterosexual relationships on average, let's see your sources. Then you can explain how that justifies discriminating against the gay couples who do have long-term relationships. Okay... so is that your theory for why gay-identified people exist, or would this be a subset of gay people that you're talking about? Source, please. And again: Relevance? If gay people, on average, are more likely to have STDs... you think that means none of us should be allowed to marry? Why not just get to the point and prohibit people with STDs from marrying, instead? If that is, in fact, a real point. And when was the last time you were an active member of "the" gay community, Aineo? I suppose all of the gay couples in my state who just sued for marriage and won don't know what they're getting into, either. I have so many objections to this sentence, I don't even know where to start. Before I try, let me ask: If there was a study that made it resonably clear that while some gay people can "choose to be straight," the majority cannot... would you change your stance on gay marriage? If not, then why did you bring it up? |
