ArchivedWhy Change the Mus & Ch Discussion forum to Registered OCarol:
If you wanted to be a good cook...which I'm sure you are ...which would be the WISEST thing to do--- Observe, and take advice from everyone giving it... or BUY A COOK BOOK and READ THE DIRECTIONS? Most people...especially those who can't read...learn through mistake and error and enough information from others on how to 'throw something together" but rarely do people actually buy and read a cook-book to learn how to cook things properly. Though trial and error and practice you can be successful but rarely will you be where you COULD have been by following the original directions. There was a time when I didn't believe in ANY religion because of the amount of hipocracy and falsehood I've seen among the people of ALL religions..including Muslims. But I stopped observing the people and started reading the DOCTRINE and that's what helped me make up my mind on which religion I would choose. That's why when I was a Christian...I relied on THE BIBLE to guide me and not ministers and other Christians. Now as a Muslim...I rely on KORAN to guide me rather than "Islamic" books and scholars and clerics. Do you understand what I'm trying to say, Carol? There are so many clouds and obstacles thrown in the way of truth that it CAN be hard to find it...but it's still there. Plus, as you may know...MOST Americans aren't very well read so most of us accept and reject things based on media hype and fear rather than logic and doing our homework. But you're right about the difficulty and rituals. On the same token, most Christians are making Christianity so EASY without laws or restrictions that I'm suprised more people aren't flocking to the Church. (by the way, as you can guess.. I'll have a longer post here later.. all this questioning is leading up to an even bigger comment and resulting question) *grin* I can't wait....gimme an appetizer! |
