ArchivedJesus a Hypocrite in the Bible???Your lack of understanding scripture does not surprise me. When Jesus said this, He was comparing it to the Pharisees who prayed in public to look "religious" in front of other people. Jesus is not telling His desciples they can't pray in front of people, but He is telling His desciples it is better to pray in secret to God, rather than in front of people to look good. Read the passages before and after AGAIN, and read the whole chapter in its context. There were times when Jesus prayed in private to the Father, and there were times He prayed in front of His desciples. Jesus never said to ALWAYS pray in secret. He means it is better to pray in secret than pray in public in order to get attention. Sort of like what SOME (not all) Muslims do. They glorify the way they pray and brag about it. Didn't I already tell you that the Bible says you are to worship God in spirit and in truth? Why then pray carnally? Now you lack discernment. Father, why do you allow these Muslims to come on this site to mislead the guests who read their posts?! Abdullah, don't you realize when you put people in hell for the things you say, you will be responsible? For Luke 11:52 says, "How terrible it will be for you experts in religious law! For you hide the key to knowledge from the people. You don't enter the Kingdom yourselves, and you prevent others from entering." (NLT) Jesus said not to use "vain repititions." He never said you can't consistantly ask the Father for something. An example of a vain repitition is "God, please give me some new clothes," while you already have clothes in the closet you have not even worn. Or, "Lord, please bless me with a house and car," while you have no children you live in the city and have a two bedroom apartment living by YOURSELF. Another example of a vain repitition is when people do the cross sign in front of others to show how religious they are, but you have not seen them come to Church in ages, or they never even read the word. Or when people say the Lord's prayer or Psalm 23, and they don't even care about God in their hearts. I'll use myself as an example: Before I was Born Again, I would say grace by praying, "God please bless this food" everyday. Eventhough I said grace, I still went to church like 7 times a year, and I did not read the Bible. These are examples of vain repitions. When Jesus prayed to the Father for the samething over and over, it was not in vain, because He had a real relationship with God. Jesus taught not to use vain repititions in Matthew 6:5-8. But in Matthew 7:7, Jesus says "Ask, and it will be given to you; seek, and you will find; knock, and it will be opened to you." In Luke 18, Jesus gives a parable about how you shall keep on praying in order to know God's will. Persevering through prayer and using vain repititions are not the same. I do not expect people who lack spiritual discernment to understand. But I pray that someday those people will. In order for Jesus to be a hypocrite, He has to contradict Himself. Was it true that Judas betrayed Him? Yes!!!!!!!!!!! Was it true that Jesus still wanted Him to repent, and is it true that Jesus said love your enemies? Yes!!!!!!!!!!! I've had plenty of friends who've betrayed me, but that does not mean we did not "squash our beef" and still remained friends. God calls us humans sinners, but does that mean He does not love us? Why are you so stubborn? Haven't you heard about a million times that the trinity is not polytheist? And yet you still say it is? The trinity is One God exposed in three persons. If God can be everywhere in the world and universe at once, how then can He not glorify Himself in the trinity? We can aprehend the things of God, but we cannot always comprehend it. Oh yeah, and so much for exposing the "faults" of Jesus. And yet Muslims believe Jesus was sinless! |
