ArchivedJesus LiedI will let Carol get in depth, but let me make a comment. First of all, like you said Abdullah, Jesus spoke the parables IN PUBLIC. And as Mark 4:11-12 implies that whoever understands the parables, they know the mystery of the kingdom of God. But whoever does not understand the parables do not receive the mystery of the kingdom of God. Now this does not neglect the fact that Jesus SPOKE openly as John 18:20 says. Jesus never said He taught openly. He said he SPOKE openly, which is true. He only taught more to those who were willing to listen. Why would Jesus teach something to someone when they were not going to accept Him anyway? Were the Pharisees the desciples of Jesus? You teach to desciples. But Jesus still spoke openly to crowds. And in those crowds there will be some who believe and understand, and some who don't believe and don't understand. As Proverbs 23:9 says, "Speak not in the ears of a fool: for he will despise the wisdom of thy words." If you are not to speak in the ears of a fool, what makes you think Jesus will teach them? I also hope this verse will not apply to you Abdullah, for I know you are smarter than this. |
