? is completely random. Remember the anecdote about 10k monkeys on typewriters that would eventually turn out the entire works of Shakespeare? It works for <pi> too. If you calculated it out enough, you'd get every possible message in the english alphabet. But, since <pi> it a law of the universe then it would have had to be created with the universe, so why would god put a message in it in a langage that didn't exist yet?
Also, weren't you the one who started a thread about not asking god for proof of himself? That's pretty hypocritical, saying that you shouldn't ask for proof when there is none, but then giving proof when a random number sequence happens to give some.
As for the arguements that the originator of this thread posted, all of them are flawed. Here are a few examples:
Concerning the Stalin one: Christianity has been responsible for far more deaths. 2 Inquisitions, the Salem Witch Trials, the Crusades, etc.
For the being able to imagine a supreme being, so he must exist: I can imagine myself being omnipotent. So, would you mind worshipping me? If you want proof, the bible clearly states that you shouldn't ask for it, so I'm afraid you're going to hell. Don't feel bad, I still love you, even if I condemn you to eternal torment. But, sadly, that goes against the giant face thing that _mike_ talked about in his occult thread, so something's amiss here.
The not being able to see wind, but still knowing it's there: I love it when Christians use this arguement, because it's so silly. You can feel wind. It has a tangible effect. You can measure it, look at it's individual atoms, keep it in a jar, go inside to get away from it, create it, etc. You might say that you can feel god, but I say that's too many endorphins and too few brain cells.
The countless people believing in god: Yes, that's true, billions believe in god, but I've got news for you: Billions of them believe in OTHER gods. But, naturally, since he doesn't want to give us a sign, a god that loves all his children won't use a trillionth of his power to giude them to salvation. Too bad.
Finally, the immoral atheist so there must be a god: Another silly one. Christians are constantly telling me that I am judging all of them based on a few. That's not true, I'm judging all of them based on their religion. But Atheists don't have a strong central base. Though almost all of us agree on the same things, something Christianity has yet to do, otherwise there wouldn't be so many denominations. Anyway, you're judging all Atheists based on one. Pardon the pun, but that's pretty base ^_^ Many of the most apathetic, arrogant, dowright evil people I've met are Christians. Argueably, they weren't real Christians. But, since Jesus taught tolerance, neither are you guys. And, argueably, that guy wasn't a real Atheist =D
