ArchivedWill there be Homosexuals in Heaven?
Each and every single one of those quotes puts words into God's mouth. God does not specifically say that reformed homosexuals will be allowed entrance, so to assume so is mere prattle. People practice sin every single day of their lives, whether it be lying, cheating, or looking at another woman (for those straight men). By this practice, than they to are condemned from going to heaven. Can anyone refute this statement? Perhaps there is some rationale that decides on a difference in severity of sin, and in fact all Homosexuals are for-sure going to hell, while all "mild" practicing sinners stand a much better chance. The Bible itself says that no sin is worse than any other; all sins are equal. If God decides who gets into heaven in the same over-righteous attitude that has been displayed here, than I CANNOT think of a single person who is going to pass through the gates of heaven; again, EVERY SINGLE person on the face of the planet practises sin each and every day... ahhhhh... but wait.... let's find some scapegoats and adopt sin to a scale of better to worse. If the Bible is taken in literal interpretation than it becomes a book of contradiction, and confusion. I read a great deal of the Bible at one time, before my conversion to athiesm, and it is a confusing book that condems just about everything everyone does, because there is no scale. So, if God did exist (in my belief), than he cannot have such a criteria as you all seem to believe. There must be a lot more to his judgement than sending everyone to hell for practising (knowingly) as sin (or sins) for all of their lives. Consider all of the little lies you knowingly tell every day of your lives. No matter if it's an attempt to spare someones feelings, it is none-the-less a lie. ("No honey, you don't look fat!" "Oh, I gotta go to work, I'll talk to you later." to your children: "I'm sure that Grandma/Grampa is going to be just fine" , or "I'm sure rufas went to heaven!") Every single one of those are lies, and they are told by everyone as a comfort to others and as a way to avoid dealing with the situation at hand. Robert |
