Archived7th century timelineTurning the other cheek is not the same as being OVERCOME by a GREATER power. Jesus was not forced to be killed. All Jesus had to do was ask the Father and legions of angels would come to save Him (Matthew 26:53). There is a BIG difference between being forced to be killed and giving yourself up willingly. Jesus did the latter. If Mohammed defended himself, fine. But the fact that Jesus didn't defend himself does not make Mohammed MORE succesful because Jesus' mission was to die and resurrect. Let's see what Acts 2:31 has to say in accordance to Psalms 16:10. Acts 2:31- He seeing this before spake of the resurrection of Christ, that his soul was not left in hell, neither his flesh did see corruption. Psalms 16:10- For thou wilt not leave my soul in hell; neither wilt thou suffer thine Holy One to see corruption. Hosea 6:2- He will revive us after two days; He will raise us up on the third day, That we may live before Him. Also, in Matt 12:40, Jesus made a reference to Jonah (Jonah 1:17), with His death and resurrection being like Jonah in the belly of the beast. He said that it was a "sign." Also, after Jesus' death "he shall see his offspring, and shall prolong his days...Out of his anguish he shall see light" (Isa. 53:10-11).
