ArchivedMistakes, and imperfections in the QuranPeace peace2all34, No offense, but your whole post is really irrelevent. It really doesn't matter when we celebrate Christmas, could of been May 17 or September 8, or whenever. We don't know the date or Jesus's birthday, you're correct. So the early Christians celebrated Christmas over an ancient pagan holiday to "overwrite" it. The pagans who had recently converted would forget more about their old religion celebratimng Christian holidays over pagan holidays. Christmas is simply the celebration of Jesus's birth. It doesn't matter if there are big parties or colorful decorations around the house, or whetever, just as long as people recognize that this is the day that Jesus the Messiah was born. During the ages Christmas adopted some silly supercilous secular practices like Santa, elves, Christmans trees, mistletoes, etc. Unfortum\nately, alot of people get caught up in all of this stuff, especially this gift-buying fiasco. People need to be reminded: "Jesus is the reason for the season." |
