ArchivedPAUL IS THE ANTICHRIST!Greetings Sun Tzu Now, both you and I believe that Jesus is THE WORD OF GOD so therefore, saying He has no formal training as a Rabbi is irrelevent. That He knows God's Word as if it were His own word (which I believe it was), He needed no formal training. Infact, as a 12 year old boy talking to the teachers in the Temple (Luke 3:41-52), the boy Jesus, caused the teachers to beamazed at his understanding and his answers to their questions". A little boy of 12 years, used and understood the law and the Word of God more than these learned teachers of the jews. So, please read the context, ask yourself why were those verses written and to whom and then all scripture is read as it is meant to be read. One other rule of Bible study, (and I know that you believe this for studying the Quran as well), is that Scripture must agree with Scripture. As a Christian, if I take one verse and try to explain it, I must be able to show that my thoughts are not just based on one teaching, but that of the whole bible. Your approach leaves the door open for you to say anything based on a verse here and there, and no christian would ever approach Bible study that way. An example of this again, is that "Paul admitted to robbing the churches". On the contrary, he didn't. Infact, he worked as a tentmaker to prevent himself being reliant on anyone to meet his needs. Look at the entire context by comparing Acts 18:3 with 2 Corinthians 12:14. Paul reminds the Church in Corinth that he never wants to be a burden to them, and spends on them everything he has. Many times as he travelled around, Paul used his ability as a tent maker, to prevent him being reliant on the churches for support. I have to leave this now, but will return later and try and answer this thread a little more fully if you need it/want it. blessings to you Carol |
