Jovaro: Good Questions ...
I've been looking into Evolution for the past year, i take about an hour of each day looking into it for the past year ... So yup .. i've come across "survival of the fittest"...
In my opinion ... A common problem is how non-living matter became living?
If Notepad evolved ... imagine for a moment that computer software evolves, what chances are there of 100,000's of lines of coding forming such perfectly to build a perfect peice of software? When you look at Evolution from a Mathematicians point of view, it doesn't make much sense. I can explain this to you in much more detail if you like.
Anyway ... In my opinion ... People in Job's days or ancient days did not beleive the Earth was round, they beleived it was flat. I dont think they used the Hebrew for Khug to refer to the sap of the Earth, because a Hebrew Scholar will tell you that the word Khug means something that is Spherical or Round, aka ... Has 4 sides.
Personally i think people in those days did not know of such things as Gravity and much about Science like we do now ... This is why they beleived myths and all various beleifs that Earth stood on something or someone etc etc. The scripture is stating that Earth is hung by nothing, meaning a peice of string is not attached to earth.
Your right ... The Sun is important, Job is saying in this scripture that the Earth "hangs" on nothing, he's not saying Gravity doesn't exist or anything of that sort in my opinion.
OneGod: Your right that in a sense it rains because God has created things ... What im saying is that i dont think God literally looks down upon a particular country and says "Oh, we need some rain down here, poof, let there be rain" ... I personally dont think it works like that. Anyway your entitled to your opinion i guess. I'd love to see scientific facts in the Quran, will you show me some?
