Here's an example from the Bible on Irony and Arrogance:
And when they had platted a crown of thorns, they put it upon his head, and a reed in his right hand: and they bowed the knee before him, and mocked him, saying, Hail, King of the Jews! [Matthew 27:29]
Now did the Roman soldiers believe that Jesus is the King of the Jews? And when they bowed before him, were they bowing as a sign of respect or Irony?
