He created man with free will and the ability to choose not to committ gross sins. Murder and owning slaves is a choice, not a command of God. Treating people with love and respect is a choice, in fact: Lev 19:18
18'You shall not take vengeance, nor bear any grudge against the sons of your people, but you shall love your neighbor as yourself; I am the LORD.
NAS
Jesus put this in proper perspective when He taught that the Pharisees changed this by adding "hate your enemy".
But our brain chemicals and how we're raised pretty much determines what we do and think. And what about mentally insane people? Or people who died before Jesus, or lived in Africa before the Christians took over?
Brain chemicle imbalance is under research, as to how we are raised, we have the ability to determine if we will continue to live like our parents. We can make the choice to live differently. Again free will. As to people in Africa and those who lived before Jesus, that is not your concern or mine. This is an old plow used to change the focus of any discussion about free will. However, read Romans, you will find a partial answer.
