ArchivedImmaculate conception and assumption of MaryHmm, now I know for sure you only see what you wish to see What you posted as "my" quote... see the difference I seem to be missing some verses... wonder where they went... talk about selective reading and copy and pasting.... You posted What it says there is: *Note 1* Strong's Number: 80 Original Word Word Origin adelfoß Transliterated Word Adelphos Phonetic Spelling ad-el-fos' Definition 1 a brother, whether born of the same two parents or only of the same father or mother 2 having the same national ancestor, belonging to the same people, or countryman 3 any fellow or man 4 a fellow believer, united to another by the bond of affection 5 an associate in employment or office 6 brethren in Christ a his brothers by blood b all men c apostles dChristians, as those who are exalted to the same heavenly place In the NAS bible the difference in the words comes more clear(it's the bible I've used for this one http://bible.crosswalk.com/OnlineStudyB ... tChapter=1 ) As you see two types of the word brother are used here. Brethren and Brothers. If you look up in the meanings list, I've highlighted it for you which one means what. There is a reason they used a different form of the word brother there. (You said something about reading and research? you're the one using very selective reading as I proved before) 1Corvii ????? Where is that? it isn't in the bible.... You, must be able to defend your faith by bible alone, if you can't, your faith is not Christian, but a wrecked, mishapen sorry reflection of Christianity. As you can see, Celebacy is a gift from God. Not all people have it. In this chapter he warns against marrying because of the troubles they'll face and the attention that will get divided between the Lord and their wife/husband. He does not say no against marriage, but he doesn't encourage it because of his own point of view, he has the gift of celebacy. I am glad to say that I haven't got that gift.... There are a lot of Catholic preachers and monks who can't keep their vow of celebacy... some can't, but most can't. It's proven that monks with only monks often pay "visits" to eachother(especially in the olden days when gay ppl were pushed into monestaries by their family to be rid of the black sheep), it's also proven that nuns were abused or volentairy gave over to monks. Or what about those catholic priests with the little boys.... Celebacy is a gift. It cannot be forced by a vow. About your post about the word PROTOTOKOS Ahem, Jesus is the Alpha and the Omega(Revelation 1:8, Revelation 21:6,Revelation 22:13) in other words, the first and the last. He was the first in the universe(firstborn), He's the only Son of God, the firstborn Son of God. He was also the firstborn Son of Mary(she was virgin), Firstborn, does not say lastborn or only Son. Nowhere, will you find in the bible lastborn or only Son, except in reverence to God. He is God's only Son. Nowhere, I repeat, Nowhere does it state that Jesus is Mary's only Son. This is the 2nd time I actually notice that you don't quote scripture but describe it... Why are you so afraid to actually quote scripture???? I don't know exactly what this verse means..., but my educated guess(hehe, thanks bushmaster, I learned a new phrase from your post) is that it means that Jesus is the first among his followers. Let's see what the NAS bible says about this word brothers... see if it shows up brethren or brothers... Well, Jesus is the first among believers, he was the first, he set us free, he showed us the example of how to be a believer. I've read your posts thourougly though, and I still haven't found an answer on: The NAS says this verse, and again we notice the word brother, instead of brethern or a form of that. Or do you know any of the disiples called Joses? and no, it's not Joseph And what about his sisters? Strong's Number: 79 Original Word adelfe Transliterated Word Adelphe Phonetic Spelling ad-el-fay' Definition 1 a full, own sister 2 one connected by the tie of the Christian religion Now they didn't believe him in that verse, a prophet is never welcome in his own town, and it was practically the beginning of his ministry, so it wouldn't be fellow believers they talked about his sisters, but more his actual sisters, because he had no followers in his hometown, they even tried to throw him off the cliff. The only followers he could have possibly had in his own hometown was his own family... and gosh... guess what, Joseph and Mary must have had kids then. Now i invite you to "REAADDD" brother, and devend your point of view with only the bible, not unknown scripture pieces only known to the catholics and that don't appear in the bible. Your faith must be defendable by the bible alone, if not, you aren't following a Christian belief. As believers we are charged to correct eachothers errors and to support eachother. My support to you is brother. Cast of your shakles and come into the true light. Do not fail to answer my posts bit by bit, and quote the actual scripture, not your abbreviated own interpretted version of it. Show us the whole verse or chapter, because it's quite tirering to look up each piece of scripture you don't actually post here. Michael |
