I will readily agree with you that many Christians have taken upon themselves the position of "judge" of those outside the church. I also agree that many judges have allowed "stupid rhetoric" to bury their behinds. However, does this mean we are to condone a sin and remain silent? What you are basically saying is "love the sinner, and hate the sin". We agree on this statement. As to the account of the woman taken in adultery that was not "changed" it was "paraphrased" to make a point to draw attention to the fact that Jesus would not have condemned a gay man or a lesbian women brought before Him: He would have said "go and sin no more." |
