ArchivedBible quotesThere are a couple of lessons to be learned from this parable. One is the master gave to his three sevants according to their abilities. The most able was trusted with the most responsibility. The able servant will invest what he is given to benefit his master, and ultimately himself. The two who increased what they had been trusted with were praised, and the one who feared the power of his master and buried his gold and did not even attempt to use his abilities was punished. You can see this as an advertisement for capitalism or an encouragement to use your abilities to benifit yourself and those who trust you. We are all born with abilities that we can either use or bury. |
