Christian/Muslim ThreadsThe trinity?Jesus was human and He experienced pain, but it was the Father's will for Him to die on the cross for the sins of man. Just read the Isaiah prophecy that Believer referred to. You have no argument against this. What did Christ say to Peter when he said he wasn't going to let Jesus die? Christ called Peter the devil and said he seeked after the things of man and not the things of God (Matthew 16:23, Mark 8:33). If Christ said that to His own desciple, how much more will He say to Muslims? Also, why did Christ pray to the Father? Obviously to set an example for us. In the Old Testament He is called the wonderful counselor. But eventhough Christ prayed to the Father, He said we cannot go to the Father unless we get by Him. Also, the Father calls the Son "God" : "But unto the Son he saith, Thy throne, O God, is for ever and ever: a sceptre of righteousness is the sceptre of thy kingdom." [Hebrews 1:8]. Let's not forget Phillippians 2:5-8>Let this mind be in you, which was also in Christ Jesus: Who, being in the form of God, thought it not robbery to be equal with God: But made himself of no reputation, and took upon him the form of a servant, and was made in the likeness of men: And being found in fashion as a man, he humbled himself, and became obedient unto death, even the death of the cross. |
