In regards to Muslims and their reasons for rejecting the Trinity I would not generalize and say all Muslims do so for mathematical reasons. It's a matter of belief and the Trinity is not in concordance with the beliefs of Islam. Each Muslim may express his reasons for rejecting it differently. That the virgin birth is not feasible given modern science, we, regardless whether we are Christian or Muslim, believe it to have happened. The same applies to the Trinity. Whether or not it is mathematically impossible is of no consequence to me since it is the foundation of Christianity and I respect the Christian concept of the Trinity. But, with all due respect, it is not a precept of Islam. Masquerade has outlined some reasons above and I am in agreement with his view. |
