These relgions where each sent down because the civilization had lost it's original teaching. So it would make sense that these religions would have the same underlying concepts!
Not possible, civilization can never be perfected therefore Quran being the last "program" idea is non-sense. According to this logic, Programmer needs to upgrade frequently because the hardware will improve non-stop.
Let's look at a scenario (I love scenarios). I'm a computer programmer / analyst. So if I write a set of specifications for a program and I give these (specs) to programmer 1, he writes the program. I decide to update the specifications to improve the program, I give it to programmer 2, he writes the program. Then I modify my specifications one last time, and I give it to the 3rd programmer, and he writes the program.
This is God you are talking about not Bill Gates. God does not edit, He reveals and His words are final, complete! OT and NT forms a covenant with God's people, islam and Quran don't fit anywhere in this picture.
This is how you should view Judaism, Christianity and Islam, three versions of the same initial message. And it's possible that these views where known to Adam which past on to his kids (other subsequent generations). But they eventually lost the message, that's why Moses, Jesus and Muhammad (peace be upon them) where sent!
No we have no obligation to view it that way, there is not hajj in Adam's time, no salat, no zakat! Muhammad's peace message seems to be lost now, what are we supposed to do? Await another prophet?
