Vote on a pollLife on other planets?Nick, I seriously doubt any such conclusions. First of all, you must have the right type of Galaxy (spiral). I believe less than 23% of all galaxies are spiral. Then you must have the righ type of star, the exact proper mix of large planets shielding it from astroids, and I could go on and on and on....the odds of life on other planets is so remote that we might as well say its "IMPOSSIBLE"...but then again, that is also true of earth, which is what makes us such a miracle. I have not read the book you quoted, but I am very familiar wth the fine tuning necessary for life, and what many many astrophysicists have said, and I am not at all convinced that with the variables to overcome, life would exist. That being said, I don't think it changes anything either way in regard to scripture, so its mute in regard to our faith. |
