ArchivedWill there be Homosexuals in Heaven?u dont know the background in the scripture that was stated in. it was stated only for old people after they cant produce children (after the house holder stage) in order to fulfil thier dharma. after the householder stage, the man is supposed to go on a journey to improve his spiritual side and renounce all material goods. only strict hindu cults practice renounciation as it says in the baghavad gita sooner than that, when in truth its supposed to be later in life, when the person is ready to die. because of modern society, hindus do sex for pleasure, and procreation. there aint nothing evil or wrong about it. i just want to say that Hinduism doesnt fervently follow scripture as christians do. many cults follow it word to word, but the majority follows its basic beliefs of One God, Brahman and the polytheistic gods and other beliefs. remeber, it also has it in hindu scripture allowing the caste system. it definitly puts things in prespective. as a teen i have questioned my religion and come to the conclusion that its best for me, because i believe in God and I may address God in any form i need. sure there are fundamentalist Hindus who take things extremly seriously, and the majority of all hindus dont. so dont make assumptions that the all truths of HIndusim lie in scripture. some truthes do, but the one truth is only to be discovered within ones self, and scripture only helps the hindu to find a way to get there. i take it in a very objective point of view. who wrote the scripture? who is the audience? what bias does the author bring? what bias do i bring? what is the purpose of the scripture? and when ive finally discovered the true meaning behind the scripture i use it. |
