Lets give you an example:
I hereby tell you that an angel visited me last night and told me that all Christians are wrong, they believe in the wrong God. The angel showed me the truth and told me to give you all the laws of this true God. If you reject the laws you will go to hell.
I know tell you about my meeting with the angel and the laws of the true God.
You won't believe me. I will just be another of the false prophets and you reject the laws I give you. Is that a bad thing then? Will you go to hell for it?
I don't think so.
So why would it be bad then if I reject the laws of a God I don't believe in?
Your example is a mirror of Joseph Smith and the Church of Jesus Christ of Later Day Saints (LDS or Mormon). Now compare their teachings with the Bible and you have answered your own question.
