ArchivedWhich comes first, the Rapture or Resurrection?Hey there mudturkle, long time no see! Agreed! Look above! Once again! When you mention his coming, you must understand that there are two events which describe his coming, the first is when the Lord descends with a shout which is accompanied by the voice of the archangel and the trump of God which is mentioned in 1 Cor. 15:52 agreed? The dead in Christ will be resurrected and then those remaining will be caught up in the clouds. agreed my friend? This understand the ,"Dead in Christ" is a technical expression for the believers of the "Church age" take a look here: 1 Corinthians 15:23 - But every man in his own order: Christ the firstfruits; afterward they that are Christ's at his coming. agreed? This is the rapture of the church age{Those who have died in Christ and not the ones before the Crucifixion}, they are caught up{Gr. harpazo}. And then we have the second coming of Christ with His bride to establish His millenial reign.
You must have missed my point in the other thread, the dead in Christ in 1 Thess 4:16-17, 1 Cor 15:52-53, and 1 Cor 15:23 are not the same as the first resurrection in Rev 20:5-6. There are three parts to the rulership of Christs kingdom. 1. The Old Testament saints will be resurrected at this time: Thy dead men shall live, together with my dead body shall they arise. Awake and sing, ye that dwell in dust: for thy dew is as the dew of herbs, and the earth shall cast out the dead.Isaiah 26:19 And many of them that sleep in the dust of the earth shall awake, some to everlasting life, and some to shame and everlasting contempt. Daniel 12:2 2. Then we have the apostles and the church: And Jesus said unto them, Verily I say unto you, That ye which have followed me, in the regeneration when the Son of man shall sit in the throne of his glory, ye also shall sit upon twelve thrones, judging the twelve tribes of Israel. And every one that hath forsaken houses, or brethren, or sisters, or father, or mother, or wife, or children, or lands, for my name's sake, shall receive an hundredfold, and shall inherit everlasting life. Matthew 19:28,29 3. And finally we have The Tribulation Saints: He said therefore, A certain nobleman went into a far country to receive for himself a kingdom, and to return. And he called his ten servants, and delivered them ten pounds, and said unto them, Occupy till I come. But his citizens hated him, and sent a message after him, saying, We will not have this man to reign over us. And it came to pass, that when he was returned, having received the kingdom, then he commanded these servants to be called unto him, to whom he had given the money, that he might know how much every man had gained by trading. Then came the first, saying, Lord, thy pound hath gained ten pounds. And he said unto him, Well, thou good servant: because thou hast been faithful in a very little, have thou authority over ten cities. And the second came, saying, Lord, thy pound hath gained five pounds. And he said likewise to him, Be thou also over five cities. And another came, saying, Lord, behold, here is thy pound, which I have kept laid up in a napkin: For I feared thee, because thou art an austere man: thou takest up that thou layedst not down, and reapest that thou didst not sow. And he saith unto him, Out of thine own mouth will I judge thee, thou wicked servant. Thou knewest that I was an austere man, taking up that I laid not down, and reaping that I did not sow: Wherefore then gavest not thou my money into the bank, that at my coming I might have required mine own with usury? And he said unto them that stood by, Take from him the pound, and give it to him that hath ten pounds. (And they said unto him, Lord, he hath ten pounds.) For I say unto you, That unto every one which hath shall be given; and from him that hath not, even that he hath shall be taken away from him.But those mine enemies, which would not that I should reign over them, bring hither, and slay them before me. Luke19:12-27 Now see why the dead in Christ in 1 Thess 4:16-17, 1 Cor 15:52-53, and 1 Cor 15:23 are indeed the same as the first resurrection in Rev 20:5-6, bu not the same as Rev. 11:15 But the rest of the dead lived not again until the thousand years were finished.{This is the first resurrection.} Blessed and holy is he that hath part in the first resurrection: on such the second death hath no power, but they shall be priests of God and of Christ, and shall reign with him a thousand years. Rvelation 20:5,6 Thousand years were FINISHED! In verse 5 of Revelation 20 is a parenthesis, and it occurs chronologically after verse 11, and if read carefully, the First resurrection is the resurrection which is included in verse 4 which reads: And I saw thrones, and they sat upon them, and judgment was given unto them: and I saw the souls of them that were beheaded for the witness of Jesus, and for the word of God, and which had not worshipped the beast, neither his image, neither had received his mark upon their foreheads, or in their hands; and they lived and reigned with Christ a thousand years. Read carefully because i have heard this argument many times before and all have failed to see this. It says "the rest of the dead"{Unbelievers} will be resurrected in the second resurrection, and this is clearly described in verses 12 and 13. And I saw the dead, small and great, stand before God; and the books were opened: and another book was opened, which is the book of life: and the dead were judged out of those things which were written in the books, according to their works. And the sea gave up the dead which were in it; and death and hell delivered up the dead which were in them: and they were judged every man according to their works. Revelation 20:12,13 come on now!
You must not get confuse with the trump of 1 Thess 4:16-17 to the trumpet call of Rev 11:15 Understand this very carefully, The reason why is because it is signaling the end of the present age, and two of them are distinguished. 1. The "dead" is referring to those who have died in Christ. 2. And the term "we"is referring to those who are still living at the time the rapture occurs, do you understand this?
Come one now! You are taking "supper" literally which is not. the Supper is referring to the communion of all the True believers in Christ and being given the "REWARDS" so you see my friend that it is not only a basic supper. And i am not sure if you know this, but time in Heaven is quite different from the time one earth, if you know where i am coming from. Comments? God Bless! |
