That's a good post Beads, I agree with most of it wholeheartedly. What I was trying to do, as I'm sure you realise, is to show that we can interpret the Bible in different ways in order to match scientific fact. We know that pi = 3.14159265359ish for example, and by looking at the verse the right way the Bible is still inerrant, even if our hypothetical nutter still screams that pi = 3.

I particularly like the "hidden" better value of pi they get by looking at the original hebrew. Coincidental? Possibly, but interesting nonetheless!]
So what's the problem with doing similar with other situations? Science tells us for a fact [in a similar way that pi = 3.141 is a "human fact"] that the earth is billions of years old, and that creatures died before the existence of man. Looking at Scripture in a certain way yields nothing to go against this. And you still won't believe it? Why?
