Computers 101VirusesI agree. One time, I went to the Microsoft Community Newsgroup for some support and I used my real 'work' email address. A few days later, I got bombarded with spam email as well as emails with viruses on them. Thankfully, I did not buy into those bogus emails. Omega, my suggestion is to getting another email account (if possible). My wife and I had to change our account due to virus emails. Our internet services provides 10 email accounts. One email account is the main login for connecting to the internet. We would NOT use that email address for any reason other than just logging onto the internet. We then create sub accounts with an email address for each. Here we would only use these email addresses. If we start getting bombarded with spam and viruses, we can delete those sub-account email address and create a new one. My wife had to delete her old email for that reason but we create the next sub account emails using a 'period' somewhere in the address. Example: new.seed@wherever.com I know it's a hassle but it may be the only choice you have. If you have yahoo, hotmail or any other interent base email accounts that does not provide you with internet access, they are more than likely going to get hit with spam and quite possibly viruses. Sometimes, being on the internet is such a pain. I hope this helps. BIC, Eddie |
