Eddie mistakenly stated that in the NIV, Jesus is not referred to as the Son of God. Here are five Scriptures that disprove that claim.
John 1:34 - "I testify that this is the Son of God."
Romans 1:4 - "...and who through the Spirit of holiness was declared with power to be the Son of God by his resurrection from the dead: Jesus Christ our Lord."
Galatians 2:20 - "I live by faith in the Son of God."
Hebrews 4;14 - "Therefore, since we have a great high priest who has gone through the heavens, Jesus the Son of God, let us hold firmly to the truth we profess."
1 John 3:8 - "The reason the Son of God appeared was to destroy the devil's work."
It is also said that the NIV translation is the closest to Hebrew. Closer, even, than the KJV. I prefer the NIV, because it's easier to read and understand, and the notes at the bottom of the page explain things much more clearly.
