I'm sure you know what I'll say to these, and the response you've got planned. But the death and removal from God of the human soul is far beyond extinguishing the life of of a bacterium or worm.
Adam was the first human, and Eve was the first to sin. Before this act, the death of a human had not happened, and was inconceivable. The Bible is a sacred text aimed at the guidance and salvation of mankind, not the upkeep of single cell organisms. To perceive it as a science textbook detailing the subtleties of science is as unproductive as thinking of it as a book of fables designed as "ethical guides" for humanity.
Animals died before the fall. Lots of them. But man did not, spiritually or physically [although this in itself is another issue]
God Bless
