This is a chapter that speaks of the end times---in these three verses it speaks of Israel ( The Fig Tree) now she is back in the land and she is putting forth her leaves she came back in 1948 but suceeded to take Jeusalem in 1967 when we see everything that is prophecied to happen --happening at once--famine - pestilance - wars- disasters----this generation shall not pass away A Hebrew generation is three score years and ten------count it for yourselves? The prophecy in Daniel concerning The Statue.------it represented the Empires down through the ages --Media-Persians --Babylonian--Roman--and so on. It started strong with the Head made of Gold but as it reached the bottom the last Empire was a mixture of Iron and clay---these ten toes represent *The ten confederate Kingdoms* The EU there will be ten come out to be strong from the 25 countries that have now joined---each country had to sign a treaty to join--the treaty they signed was called *The treaty of Rome* its prophecied that this is to come under the revival of the old Roman Empire and The EU will become a big Nation but it will be weak (hence the mixture of iron and clay---The head falling off the statue and smashing the ten toes, represents Christ Return at the reign of the ten confederate Kingdoms----these ten who will come out of the 25 who are already in---will at one time have been under the rule of the former Roman Empire. Israel is the place to watch---there will be a peace treaty signed----the wall will come down, thats the mistake they will make 1st Thessalonians 5 verse 3 For when they shall say, peace and safety, then sudden destruction cometh upon them.
