Christian/Muslim ThreadsIslamic Perspectives of The Death & Return of Jesus :: Re: Islamic Perspectives of The Death & Return of Jesus
Exactly what is the relevance of copying and pasting me a quran only ambiguous manifesto, what relevance does this have to do with you contradicting my comments regarding the beliefs of Shias and sunnis?. If you intend to contradict my claim that 95% of islam believes in the second coming of Jesus, why don't you tell us the names of these sects within sunni and shia that don't believe Jesus is coming back so we can check their beliefs for ourselves, why paste a mass irrelevant material?, people normally do this when their argument is weak and need to set up a smoke screen.
Giving statistics rolls off sweet on the tongue, but does not address anything I have said, if you want to contradict what I said, why don't you simply give us the names of these sects within sunnis and shias that don't believe that Jesus is coming back so we can check their beliefs for ourselves. Mormons believe Joseph Smith is a messenger. Jehovah witnesses believe they are the only one going to paradise Branch Davidians believe Koresh is the messiah. I don't understand what is so hard in giving us the names of these sects that don't believe Jesus is coming back, I have spoken to several shias and sunnis and have not met one that has not believed in the second coming of Jesus. No doubt I do believe there are sects within islam that believe Jesus is not coming back, but I suspect they are like you a fringe group. Why don't you simply just give us their names? or don't you know them? The more you type stuff like this, the more I wonder just how many people I am talking to and if they bother read their posts submitted under their nick. You were the one that brought up the tafsir, this was your tafsir. http://www.jesus-christ-forums.com/home/viewtopic ... llah#38969 Are you trying to wriggle out of providing a link to that tafisr, what are you afraid of? If you purposely interpolated your own beliefs into that tafsir to deviate it's message the audience has a right to know. I think you should take stock of what exactly you are saying, you have picked and selected different beliefs within islam, even selecting information from submission.org who believe that the koran is corrupt, you do not have an agreed set of beliefs, you discard hadiths and koran interpretation making your own interpretation of the koran in order to address specific moral and rational contradictions discarding well known translations of the koran (all of them that has been shown to you so far, yet you are unable to show us any arabic scholar qualifications that justifies your sola interpretation of the koran). Before you take the mote out of our eyes you need to take the 2 by 4 out of yours, you don't even have an agreed set of beliefs, you make it up as you go along, a nominal muslim, who doesn't belief in sects but would rather go to the masjids of sunnis than those of shias but you don't believe in sects.
Why didn't you start with discrediting Ibn Kathir like you did with everybody else who had interpreted the koran. Ibn Kathir's tafsir says Jesus is coming back period, do you see the logical fallacy you are putting yourself trying to contradict Ibn Kathir's tafsir when you acknowldedge him as one of the supreme authorities in the interpretation of the koran.?
So you don't know these islamic schools of thought?
Does the author give the names of the shias and sunnis that don't believe Jesus is coming back? Can't you see that this whole essay is part his own personal exergesis and standard islamic attack on Paul. This is what this is all about, a new interpretation on the koran and islam circa 2003. This is all the fellow had to say, which opens up another can of worms of interpretation of said koran without the hadith is 114 epileptic utterances without any historical context whatsoever, complete disorder and God is not the author of disorder. |
