Christian/Muslim ThreadsIslamic Perspectives of The Death & Return of Jesus
You are making an argument from silence. Several people will disagree with you, the site article from the "quran only" individual H20 quoted from says this is a very important issue. The preface of the sahih hadiths of Bukhari and Muslim says "approved by all Muslim authorities, including the spiritual heads of Mecca and Medina" meaning that this is incumbent on all sunni muslims. If you chose to disbelieve the contents of sahih ( which are hasan meaning reliable) hadiths of Bukhari and Muslim you are contradicting sunni islam. I have been told by all sunnis I have spoken to that this is mandatory on all muslims. If you do not believe in the hadiths that mention that Jesus will return, by default you also do not believe the hadiths that talk of the dajjal or the mahdi. There will be no need for a dajjal without a return of Jesus, and a mahdi can't be justified as it is based on similar hadiths, that puts several hadiths in jeopardy many of them sahih that speak of the dajjal and the mahdi. That also puts the isnads in jeopardy and all the other hadiths that they recited. People like Abu Hurayrah and every single one of his hadiths, you might as well dismiss the entire sahih hadiths of Bukhari and Muslim, that puts you in a serious qaundary, relying solely on the quran with 114 utterances with no chronological basis whatsoever. Do you really want to go along that path? Ibn Kathir a notable koran translator believes that Jesus will return. Unless you are not a sunni or a shia muslim, you are contradicting the beliefs of sunni and shias. Do you have a name for your group/sect/ within islam? if you claim to be a sunni or a shia you are in contradiction with sunnis and shias on this issue. Btw you say the belief of Jesus's return you have found solely within western muslims. I take it you are not in the west? Having lived in a 'muslim' country myself for several years I am well aware that many people in the heart lands of islam have no access to hadiths, some have not even heard of it, they rely solely on what their imams say. I have not met a sunni muslim or a shia who has access to hadiths that does not believe that Jesus will return. Why is it that the ahmadiyya movement have been declared heretical by the entire muslim ummah in 1974 precisely because one of the things they believe is that Jesus will not return. http://alhafeez.org/rashid/zion.html http://alhafeez.org/rashid/rabita.html
"Best form of defense is to attack". I am yet to meet a muslim that has not resulted to this tactic.
How would you classify yourself a sunni shia? or like h20 a haneef muslim? Are there any particular hadiths that you believe? If you do not realise the importance of having a set of beliefs, the best analogy I can give you is having wolves in sheeps clothing, sooner or later the wolves will start to devour the flock with their doctrine. Your religion already has 150 sects in it's 1400 yr history. Refusing to admit that sects exist within islam to show a unified front to christianity helps you in no way. Indeed it seems the best form of defense is to attack especially to a muslim mentality. I fail to see what these questions have to do with the sects within islam that do not believe in Jesus's return. I believe He will return, this is a fundamental belief in christianity, and yes it will be to this world!!! I also believe that christians will be persecuted, tortured and killed by the majority of humanity who will follow the beast aka the anti christ. I believe the muslim mahdi is a suitable candidate for this role. I saw an interesting documentary from a former muslim (terrorist) turned christian that related every single country talked about in psalm 83 as all the countries that currently surround Israel and saw for himself the whole 6 day war in that chapter, he mentioned that "those who hate the Lord pretend 'submission' to Him". He identified islam as these people, and stated that islam is the only global religion that has a different world timeline in conjunction with the anti christ changing the times and the seasons as stated in the bible (AD instead of AH). When He returns eventually after the rapture of the church, and the reign of the anti christ. It shall be in the creation of a new heaven and a new earth, as it was in the beginning. Then He will judge all those who refused to believe in Him and refused His gift of salvation. |
