Christian/Muslim ThreadsIslamic Perspectives of The Death & Return of Jesusassalaamu alaikum Unite How do scholars become scholars ? There were once laymen, They acquired knowledge of the Quran based on what was available at their time. There work are not the final chapter to Islamic exegesis but are merely the begining. There works are to be considered and used as a formal guide for elaborating on and expanding such knowledge by correction and confirmation. We are to expand and grow, not isolate and seclude our selves by limiting one self to another. This was one of the main downfalls of the Ummah especially when they succumbed to western Ideology and Christian influences that affect the interpretion of texts. We have an advantage the Ummah of Rasoolullah (s.a.w.) did not have at first. The Quran was not revealed one time but in intervals of pieces in which the prophet him self had to explain due to questions and based on the peoples understanding of that time. We have the whole Quran and are able to seek through its aayats for examples, clearification of its meaning internally and externally. So no we are not putting our selves in the shoes of the Prophet (s.a.w.) it depends on how you look at it. When I see brothers and sisters who go beyond the findings of the scholars I commend them cause they have not limited themselve, as long as their findings and exercise of knowledge does not contradict the Quran by any means. This is how most scholars became scholars. wassalaam. The same way how our Prophet said to his wives the one with the longest arm will die first. Turns out it meant the one who gave the most charity. Also he{Jesus} is suppose to ascend from the heaven on the wings of two angels(In islam the average size of angel is the size of the horizon in their true form with their wings) with water droping from his hair. So I guess this is literal to huh ? Try reading all the hadiths that speak of his return, just dont pull some small portion of a topic you havent fully studied. The statement is symbolic when read in light of ALL the hadeeths that mention his return. I have given you the reference to a book with all the collected available hadeeth in english that mention his return. You choose one hadith out of 100 that give the discription of the Dajjal for an arguement ? Again why dont you try reading all the hadeeth that give the discription of the Dajjal who is also suppose have fire/hell in one hand and paradise/water in the other, who has one eye, and then again in its right eye will be bulging out or protruding like a grape, also he has the arabic letters Kaaf Faa Ra'a between its head. did you ever read this, and how big he is etc ? If you intend to want to debate on islamic teaching I would advise that you fully read all what is available. As far as I am concerned I think you are using information obtained from other muslims who tend to believe the Dajjal is an actual human being, then to use my information to counteract both of us. Make sure to ask whatever muslim your speaking with if he or she ever read Mishkatul-Masabih, if they never heard of the book and havent read it then obviously they cant speak about a topic that they havent fully understood yet. I like this game when people like you cant understand a simple sentence writen in layman writing, and you expect to understand islam ?
