Christian/Muslim ThreadsQuran - Red Letter EditionI wonder why you didnt Quote Abdullah Yusuf Ali. You are soo a custom of Quoting him. I see what you do. If the translation meets your criticism then you use it but if it doesnt then you disregard it with out any authority when you dont even speak the language. And then you use translations that contradicts each other hoping to disprove our translation thus trying to labeling us as a lier ? Khalifa's translation of the phrase with "istuhfizhuu" is redered as "..as dictated to them in GOD's scripture.." Pickthal's translation of the phrase with "istuhfizhuu" is renedered as "..as they were bidden to observe.." Contradicts the other translations including mine: Shakir's translation of the phrase with "istuhfizhuu" is renedered as "..because they were required to guard (part) of the Book of Allah.." Sher Ali's translation of the phrase with "istuhfizhuu" is redered as "..because they were required to preserve the Book of ALLAH.." Yusuf Ali's translation of the phrase with "istuhfizhuu" is redered as "..for to them was entrusted the protection of Allah's book.." H2O's 8) translation of of the phrase with "istuhfizhuu" is redered as "..by what they were suppose to protect from Allah's scripture.." Did you ever read what you were copying and pasting ? Obviously not. There is nothing wrong with our translation to that of Sher, Yusuf, and Shakir its just a matter of choice of words to express the Arabic having the same denotation. Easy. The introduction of the diacritcal marks into the Quran was not altering the Quran. It was to asure the proper reading of the Quran by those who were students of Arabic. The diacritical marks were applied by the reading of the majority Qari whom memorized the entire Quran which was learnt direct from the Prophet and transmitted in same manner by the Qari to others who also became Qari. To distinguish passive, verbs, etc in the Quran was not an issue for Arabs whom naturally could distinguish the grammar by mansoob etc. as it was their mother tongue. Are you an Arab ? Do you speak Arabic ? The verse in context is refering to a Herald being sent to his nation and former Heralds that were sent to their nation. Also "clear signs" translated from "al-bayyinaat" means clear, evident, plain, obvious. There is no word for "signs" to imply miracle or wonder as you may have thought. The same word "al-bayyinaat" is the name of the chapter 98 translated as "The Clear evidence" so why wasnt it translated as "The Clear Signs" ? The word expresses "clear evidence" not "clear signs". Muhammad presented clear evidence to his people, you have no idea what this clear evidence is cause one your not even an Arab or an Arabic speaker to understand what the clear evidence was. "the scripture" rendered from " zubur" pl. of zuboor that means Psalms or physical writen books. I think "scripture" is a horable translation of that word as the Quran is a "RECITAL" or "RECITATION" that is chanted in Hyme, Rhythm and melody. Here is a sample http://www.islamicity.com/MOSQUE/ARABIC ... 101_91.ram "and with the illuminating Book" ~ Kitaab, we already explain the word "Kitaab" does not always denote a physical book ~ which historically does not apply to the Quran. Now Whats your point ? I showed you what Quran says, the foundation of Islam, and you just yap what you think you understand what hadeeth says which you havent shown. So far 95 % hadeeth you came to me with that was regarded as Sahih I didnt not reject but clearified the meaning by its Arabic source and by the Quran. Also it is not incumbent upon any muslims to believe in a hadeeth that contradicts Quran. Rember you comming froma translation I am coming directly form the source it self. Your trying to debate with someone who doesnt have a single Hadeeth or Quran in english, in which you will find no Arabic speaker validating a translation of the Quran to him self in preference to the Arabic. Actually no. The Gospel of Barnabas contradicts Quran to which it is in the same boat like the rest of the other so called gospels. |
