Ah, you tried to proof your point with a movie. I like that! It's much more entertaining than quotes and links to books and pages.
Though the entire story SEEMS to have a scientific basis, it leaves a lot of things unexplained:
First of all, and most striking: If god CREATED the deluge to rid the world of man's wickedness, (see Genesis), than why does the movie present the occurance as something natural? If there is an omnipotent god, can he not create water out of nothing? He created the waters out of nothing in the first 6 days of creation (Genesis, chapter 1). If this movie proves anything, than it is this: If there really WAS a deluge, than it was not something god created, it was a natural occurance.
But than again, I do not believe there ever WAS a deluge. We're getting a bit off topic here, but if no one objects, let's discuss this.
I'll present you with a link in return. It is not a movie, but a systematic analysis of WHY it is not possible for the great flood to have occured.
(And please, don't start with the 'Talk Origin only provides Darwinistic propaganda.' This page has valid points. )
Link to page that disproves the great flood
--- Other things that are wrong with this movie: ---
- Spraying water, that froze in the upper egions of the atmosphere FROZE the mammoths?
This is quite an amusing little story, but is absolutely not based on any facts, and I'll explain why: The movie explains the ice age, because it was a result of the water that was released from deep under ground and froze high in the atmosphere. What about the several other ice ages that occured? The pleistocene era has experienced several ice ages! This is the period in which mammoths roamed the Earth. If we are to believe the bible, then the world is 6000 years old (Genesis, chapter 1. This is the same book that describes the deluge). The Pleistocene era, during which the mammoth froze into the ice, was BEFORE this! Pleistocene: 1.8 million - 11 .000 years ago.
Here's another point, that relates to both the above movie, and the original topic:
- If Noah could only take two animals of each species (I know, I know, he could take 7 of some domesticed species), how is it possible to prevent inbreading? I read the article about Cain's wife, and how god created people with perfect genes. EVEN IF THIS IS TRUE. did he create animals with perfect genes too? Animals that did not suffer from inbreading? And if inbreading in humans is the result of our sins, polluting our genes and deteriorating our species, are animalls sinners too? (They suffer form genetic defects due to inbreading as well! How can this be explained?)
Well, I think I've put forth enough questions for now. I'm very interested to read the reply. (If you would, please answer all the questions, and not just one. Directed at anyone who want to give it a shot)
