Re: Premaritla Sex
This is my beleif about premarital sex. If you do not agree, then by all means, prove me wrong!
In context of the time period in which the bible was written, marriage basically meant two things: sex and the birth of a child or children. It was a sin to have a child out of wedlock. But is it a sin to have sex out of wedlock?
I do not beleive so. My reasoning lies in these commonly heard phrases in the bible referring to marraige. "...to become one flesh." and to become united as one. I think many people forget that when two people have a child that it actually is the combining and the unifying of themselves to create one flesh; their child! The purpose of marriage is childbirth.
Today we have two ways of having sex where a child is not produced. The use of birth control and homosexuality. Homosexuals obviously cannot create children and so marriage is not required for inproductive sex. The same applies to the Heterosexual community as well. No longer does sex mean that a child will be created! Therefore, if marriage is for unprotected sex and the birth of a child, then premarital sex, with protection and without a child, is not a sin!
People like to shout out words like "sexual immorality" when talking about premarital sex. First they must understand what the sexual immorality is!!!
