Each of these terms connote a sexual attraction. Whether that sexual attraction is to a member of the same or opposite sex is irrelevant.
The soul has nothing to do with bodily preferences. The focus should be on the soul's relationship with God.
Heterosexual lust is the same as homosexual lust.
Sex has the primary purpose of begetting and raising a child. If one has tendencies to seek sexual gratification devoid of that result (homo or hetero) then it is lust, plain and simple. The focus should be on helping people transform that lust into love of God. It should not be on one's preference of hetero or homo. That is circumstantial. The similar problem to both gay and straight is lustfulness.
So petifilia, beastiabity, necrofilia, and others are also considered to be sexual attractions. Are these to be accepted without question?
