When a hypothesis such as the tree of life has been disproven, yes, it should be abandon and the data looked at again.
But that is not what is happening nor what will happen! It will remain in text books for at least fifty more years! And since evolution is primarily a faith, this will not to anything more to the adherents than get them to try to imagine different scenarios to support it.
However if evolution were actually a science, they would be doing some serious re-thinking about the entire field at this point.
Science works with data. Evolution works with imagination.
Science works with hypotheses which can be disproven. Evolution doesn't bother with that -- they don't need evidence or disprovable hypotheses. Evolutionists KNOW evolution happened!
