The only thing Christians need to recover from is vain religion and get plugged into the real thing which is the Holy Ghost power of the resurrected Christ. I lived in the bondage of homosexuality until age thirty. When I came up out of the waters of my baptism the minister baptizing me suddenly stopped and said, "Oh there's something wrong here!" I never told anyone at the church about my homosexual past. The minister whispered in my ear, "You have been involved in homosexuality and satan has bound you in the flesh, but now God is going to set you free." This was all taking place in front of my family and about two hundred people. The minister helped me out of the baptismal tank and stood me up. He called over the Pastor and two other ministers to pray for me. As I stood there soaking wet they began to pray and as they laid their hands upon me in prayer; it felt like I was hit with a hurricane force wind. I jumped backward off my feet and landed on the floor. While on my back I started shaking like a fish flops out of water and I began to speak in tongues as the Spirit gave me utterance. That was the moment of my new birth. It was a supernatural experience just like the Book of Acts 2:38 said it would be. Afterwards when I got up I felt so clean and new and overcome with a joy that cannot be explained. I never felt so alive. The only thing I can liken it to would be an orgasm of the entire body from head to toe. And everytime I pray and praise God that same feeling comes over me because it is the supernatural presence of Jesus Christ Himself. The difference between the cult of Christianity which is nothing but another vain religion and the Real Christianity is the power and demonstration of the Holy Ghost. If you ever taste of the real thing you will be changed. If you want to know what the real thing is about then view my article, Jesus Is His Name, a five part series, in the Christian Debate Forum. Before my conversion I scoffed at religion so I understand your viewpoint. It is easy to explain away and discuss away the Bible but one thing that cannot be reasoned away is the demonstration of the Spirit of God in power. And anyone who professes Christiantiy and has not been baptized in the Holy Ghost evidenced by speaking in tongues is not a true Christian. That is why there are groups like the KKK who proclaim Christianity but I can assure not one of them has been Spirit filled. The vast majority of the Church has failed in that way but the real thing is alive and well today and available to those who will simply seek and ask.
