When I graduated from high school in 1961 I was a 285 lb. left-handed kid who wore glasses and encountered a lot of teasing and discrimination because I was "different" from my peers and my biological family. But, I did not commit suicide.
I can empathize with the problems the youth mentioned in the opening article dealt with but to blame all Christians for the actions of a few is ludicrous and nothing more than the same hate mongering gay activists accuse society of aiming at the gay community.
With a bit of research I can post another list of gay suicides because of what happened to gay youth in the gay community. The memorial sites I had in my favorites that were published by the families of gay youth who suicided because adult gay men sexually abused them have been taken down but this is another reason some gay youth take their own lives.
Christians need to learn to treat gay youth with love, compassion, and understanding. However, gay youth also need to be taught self-reliance and helped to understand you cannot change people perceptions by force. Their will always be discrimination even in countries where homosexual marriages are legal, and the best way to change people's perception is through education, which takes time.
