So 'fowl' is derived from a verb that means 'to fly'... I don't relly see your point, since the word fowl is always used as meaning "BIRD(S)".
And besides that, Webster dictionaries are a bit biased when it comes to biblical references.
Perhaps anyone knows what the ORIGINAL word meant BEFORE it was translated into English?
And how about the other 'facts' of the bible? Have you ever seen rabits regurgitate food?

So a rabit is unclean BECAUSE he 'cheweth the chud'? He does not cheweth the chud at all.
