I must apologize for not being able to keep up with this thread more closely seeing as it was the holidays but i would like to make a comment on the bible verse Matt 28:19 which was used to try to prove the trinity.
................................................................................
Matthew 28:19-Go ye therefore, and teach all nations, baptizing them in the name of the Father, and of the son,and of the Holy ghost......
Please pay close attention to a key factor:
1) He is telling them to baptize in the name(singular).......Father,son,Holy ghost are only titles or descriptions if you will they are not names........and if you will notice he is asking for a name(not names or titles )to use in baptism.
I would also like for you to take into consideration :
If Jesus is savior of the world and there is salvation in no other name wouldn't the only logical name that is being sought in this verse (Matt.28:19)for baptism is JESUS the name above every name.
Also take Acts 2:38................Acts being the actions of the apostles(how they acted and practised salvation after being taught of Christ).....Not only that but lets take into account History baptism was preached and taught in Jesus name even in the catholic church up until arround 325A.D...........when it was officially changed at the council of Nicea ...............And if that be the case remember that scripture which states "Though we or an angel of heaven come preaching any other doctrine than what we have taught let him be acursed"(please forgive my paraphrasing here).............Then isn't it logical to say if we practise baptism any other way we are in error and our form of salvation may be faulty?
