There is absolutely no logic in that assumption, whatsoever, and I believe it's a tool that homosexual extremists use to obtain sympathy from some people, who may already hate Christians.
Clearly stated it's absurd because no gay person I know 'hates' any Christain because they are Christain. What they take issue with is people preaching to them that they're life style is wrong. The equilivent would be if I preached that you attending church service was somehow morally wrong -- which I don't.
Yes there are extremists on both sides of this. Perhaps we can come to an agreement that either side pulling out the most bizarre and extreme examples of the argument doesn't further understanding on either side. I could just as easily go to a KKK Website, copy and paste all of the propganda they use from the bible to support their cause.
I do not do this however because no logical person assumes that more mainstream Christains share their belief -- even the more Fundamentalist Christains.
You're on a Christian message board. If you're unhappy with our views on homosexuality, perhaps you should join a board that is not Scripturally sound.
I came here in the hope of having a meaningful albiet sometimes spirited conversation with people who share an opposing opinion. It has been my experience in life that while you and I probably will never agree that perhaps through dialogue you will see 1% of my point and perhaps I will see 1% of yours.
Further, when you create an internet site that encourages conversation and can be viewed by any of the nearly 2 Billion people on the planet who have access to the internet, it is assumed that you welcome dissenting opinion.
It's also extremely intimidating. I'm nervous about doing that, just 'cause of the face that it's more personal than sharing my faith with someone over the internet.
Do you deny that w/o peaceful civil disobidience black people's civil rights strides would have not happened as quickly as they did? Gay people are employing a similar tactic.
My faith is a defining part of who I am, because it influences the choices I make now and the ones I'll make in the future.
