Joe started a new thread on Schaefer. Because that was already part of this topic, I moved it here. tuppence

He has been nominated for the Nobel Prize and was recently cited as the third most quoted chemist in the world. "
JM: I read through the essay and found very little disagreement between Dr. Schaefer and myself. He thinks that God created the Universe, so do I. I saw nothing in that essay which indicates he is anti-evolution or anti-old earth. I saw a scientist expressing clearly his scientific and theological perspectives. Anyway, I saw nothing in his comments that suggest that he thinks Intelligent Design is a valid science or that young earth creationism is correct. He believes (from his theologic side) that God created and science has given him a glimpse as to how that creation was done. I do much the same. I am amazed at Gods creative power using evolution on an old earth.
Cheers
