ArchivedJehovahs Witnesses are Christians! :: Re: ReplyRe: Reply
I have difficulty with the statement that Colossians 1:15 is not to be taken literally. Not because I doubt what you're saying but because the Jehovahs witnesses seem to have a mirrored list of verses to take literally and not to take literally compared to the mainstream trinitarian. "I and the Father are one" is taken as a metaphor, and is compared with the Church and the Christ being one. The same kind of oneness. I wonder how people decide When to take something literally, and When Not To take something literally. When a Jehovahs Witness says "Literal", and Trinitarian says "Metaphor". When a Trinitarian says "Literal, a Jehovahs Witness says "Metaphor". To me they seem to be opposite sides of the same coin, that coin being "Christianity". May God forgive me if I'm wrong. Amen. |
