The example I provided was extreme, yes, but if you had listened to it correctly, you would see - In what I said, there was no other possible option. It is a Christian teaching that, in this highly extreme case, stealing is morally permissible. I was taught this by a man who had studied religious theology for years, and had multiple doctorates in it. I'm sorry to say this, but I trust his word to be correct. Unless you think that the entire Christian doctrine is lying, than I suggest you re-think this. I don't need to - we can simply ignore the law in this discussion. Unless, of course, you're suggesting that the law of the government is parallel to the law of God, which I highly doubt you're trying to insinuate. To be honest, I don't care what the laws are. At all. I am here because I want to discuss Christian morality. To me, right now, the law does not matter at all. Will I abide by the law? Yes. However, in these discussions, the law does not concern me. All that concerns me is the Christian viewpoint as opposed to my viewpoint, as well as my best possible interpretation of God's viewpoint. That's all I have to offer, and that's all I need to give, to thouroughly enjoy these discussions. So far, I have enjoyed them, and I hope to continue enjoying them in much the same way. I thought it rather did, though. He said that people had felt sodomy was disgusting for a long time, and, as you said, that was the case - there were even laws against it, to certain extents. I don't understand why, though.... why is homosexual sex, as well as other types of sex, considered sinning? I can understand if there are certain instances in which it's a sin, but the entire thing.... There are too many instances where it is pure for it to be a sin in every case. Hmm, that's interesting. Is it not possible, though, for two people in love to express it through sex? I don't see the difference between that, and, say...expressing your love by sailing a boat together. |
