As the oldest son Jesus would have given care and custody to a man He trusted and since none of Jesus' siblings were at the crucifixion Jesus chose John to care for His mother. This in no way indicates Mary is the mother of the church or all Christians.
I did not state you said Mary is blessed above all humans; the Catholic Church states Mary is blessed above all humans.
As to images the Commandment says you shall have no images before ME. Since the emoticons are not used in worship your analogy is ludicrous.
Now, as to praying to the dead this is a form of necromancy, which is prohibited in Scripture. We have one intercessor before God and that is Jesus Christ. We are instructed to intercede with the Lord in prayer for each other but since the dead cannot hear us it is useless to pray to the dead. The Catholic Church interprets Scripture to mean what it wants Scripture to mean in an attempt to justify heretical teachings. When anyone Catholic or not interprets Scripture that person is ignoring what Peter taught in 2 Peter 1:20-21.
