ArchivedMistakes, and imperfections in the Quran
You have proffered this explanation to reconsile the inconsistency in the Qurans definition of day and how God measures it. Your example is mute, since God is not giving us a comparison to a day on a planet we don't reside. In fact a day in our definition doesn't change on pluto or earth since our day is now measured by a sychronic beat measured to fractions of a tenth, and not on the rotation of the earth at this time. Time is only relative in general and special relativity and not based on what planet you are standing still on. Your explanation does not address the point at all. The Quran gives 2 significantly different lenghts for Gods day, in MANS terms....not some far off planetary rotation measurement. In regard to "who created Satan" Clearly I agree that God did for HIs will...but God is not "bad" or "good" He is only good, with no bad in Him. God is the essense of goodness, hence "bad" (as the quran states) would be a contradiction of the highest kind. This does not mean that He cannot choose to "allow evil" for His "good purpose" knowing that His purpose will ALWAYS be good. In regard to the mountain issue. The quranic verse talkes about mountains stabalizing the crust, and you proffered they acted to minimize shock, and that was their purpose. This is just patently untrue. Isostasy does not have anything to do with mountains, in fact your original quoted definition was great, and if you notice, no mention of mountain was in it. Of course I agree that plate techtonics continues, and mountain ranges are forming. The Andes are growing measurably each year. But the fact remains that mountains form as a result of vulcanic activity and plate techtonics and they were not put here as stabalizers of these processes, but in fact mountains are a RESULT of them. Now, just because it continues to change the mountains with time, does not mean that the mountain is anything other than an effect of the causes mentioned. This is in contradiction to the Quran. |
