Religious Cults & False Prophets~ Discussions and DebatesMormon - Americas prophetThe truth is (at least in Utah), a rebelious Mormon teen starts smoking and drinking beer. When I lived in Utah a Mormon owned the Coca-Cola franchise. In my discussions with my Mormon roomie I asked him about drinking coffee vs. coke and tea. His response it had to do with the teachings found in the Word of Wisdom where the exact teaching is Mormon's should not drink anything hot. Now, this may have changed since the late 1960's when I worked in Utah since the President of the LDS is considered a living prophet and can change LDS doctrine at will, which has happened when polygomy was banned and dark-skinned men were allowed in the higher LDS priesthood. BTW, both actions were taken because of U.S. Government pressure the first involving statehood and the second due to the possibility of losing their tax-exempt status. |
