Christian/Muslim ThreadsDo Christian men have a strong sense of Brotherhood?Aineo wrote: Aineo, you are kind of proving my point. In Christianity, man has been very unsure of his authority and his role in the home in modern times. I have already made the point that Christianity's glory days where in the agricultural age. Look at all of your Hallmark movies that are so popular. Almost all of these Christian films take place before industrialization (or at least on the frontier where industrialization hadn't reached). Beating our wives into submission isn't the point. By the way, why do Christians "beat" their children? (I am only talking about appropriate corporal punishment) Does the world understand this exercise of authority? No, of course not. Yet children are the only ones who can be "beaten" in this sense in the west. I know you will not accept this BUT, this lack of authority for a husband is what causes the division in the western household and is what, eventually, leads to a society so permissive of adultery and divorce. Is the pain of millions of children in divorces throughout America not worth giving husbands their rightful authority in the home? Who will speak for the children? Strictness concerning adultery is a blessing to children. Softness concerning adultery is a curse to children. Children deserve better than what they are getting in western "Christianized" culture.
