ArchivedRoman/Greco PaganismFirst of all I do not own a car. I live off my Social Security because some wealthy pagans decided that after 23 years of loyal employment they decided they did not want to deal with an employee with AIDS and forced me to resign. Well, if I remember my studies of the Greco/Roman pantheon correctly Zeus killed his own father and was born from an incestuous relationship. Pagans have lived in Europe and other nations since the birth of Christianity so I don’t understand your question. I will answer your question with a question. Why do you base your religion on recorded myths? The Bible is history, prophecy, and a book that instructs Christians on how to live a life pleasing to God. Jesus’ native language was Aramaic, but he had a good knowledge of Hebrew and probably a working knowledge of Greek. I suppose you mean King James English or to be more precise Elizabethan English. And again I don’t understand your question. The Hebrew OT was translated into Greek, which was translated in Latin. In some parts of the world it was translated into Aramaic, and other languages. The Bible I use was translated from the available Hebrew, Greek, and Aramaic manuscripts. Technically there has never been a Christian kingdom since Jesus said “My kingdom is not of this realm.” I suppose you could say that Constantine was the first king to convert to Christianity. The first church (ekklesia, which means congregation or assembly) was in Jerusalem and was composed of 120 persons. I don’t. Now you are demonstrating your ignorance. Even paganism does not depend on individual divine revelations. Also the Trinity is one God revealed in 3 persons. If you are referring to the Exodus and the Hebrews worshipping the golden calf, they were not Christians they were Hebrews (Jews). The fact the largest religion in the world is Christianity shows that many people have chosen to accept the true God. God does not force anyone to believe, which is why He created mankind with free will. Although the Crusades were instigated by a Catholic Pope, the wars were actually fought by men seeking wealth, power, and lands for their younger sons. You really need to study the political elements behind the Crusades. Also the Inquisitions were the result of Catholicism so to blame all Christians for both the Crusades and the Inquisitions ignores history. The Orthodox faiths were targeted by both the Crusades and the Inquisitions. As to millions of pagans being killed in wars with Christians, the reverse is also true. If this is your only reason to reject Christianity then you are merely demonstrating your superficial knowledge and understanding of what the Bible teaches. Nope, in fact I would say that the Babylonian/Assyrian/Sumerian tales are based on the true Hebrew faith. |
