Science, Creation & EvolutionDo all have faith?ERGH?!! thats definitely not what i learned in physical anthropology. There are no intelligent cells. Nobody "decides" to evolve. Those that are not anatomically fit enough to survive well die off, while the better versions survive. Let me give you an example. Imagine in the arctic there is a species of rabbits. These rabbits are surviving fairly well, but they could be doing better. Their biggest issue is that they have a natural predator, polar bears (Note: this is entirely hypothetical). In order to escape the polar bears, they must hide. The rabbits with the lightest coats will best camouflage into the terrain, making them more difficult for the bears to catch them. This is an evolutionary mutation. The darker rabbits are probably still of the same species as the new ligher ones. The lighter rabbits just have a better chance of surviving, so over a few thousand years most of the darker rabbits have either died or moved to a different area, while the ligher ones are the only one left in the arctic. Thats evolution. It takes time, at first, their coat may start out completely brown. The lightest browns survive best, and they in turn have children. The lightest browns survive the best, and they reproduce etc. There is no thought process what so ever. There was no animal convention whereupon creatures decided to grow longer legs. What you dont seem to understand is that YOU are a genetic mutation. Everyone posting on this board is by definition a genetic mutation. Your genes are not identical to your parents, they have changed from one generation to the next. That is the definition of genetic mutation. Did you decide to evolve? Nope. Was there much chance involved? Not really, it makes sense that those best fit to survive will in fact survive. But i have gone off topic. yes, if you look at evolution in the light that it requires animal intelligence, random chance, and several other preposterous ideas, than it seems rather stupid. The problem is, your definition of evolution is wrong. The faith that scientists take is the faith that their other PROVEN principles are indeed correct. If you prove something, it ceases to become faith. |
