I am guided by my concience and my heart. My brain does intervene for complicated decisions That being said, as a former Christian there was enough questionable material in the scriptures for me to not consider them a valid truth for me. I'm not ashamed of my path, nor am I proud to have left Christianity. I simply am, and am doing the best that I can with what I have.
That being said, in order for the Scriptures to be "truth", they have to be proven as truth or taken on faith. True Christians have faith that the Bible is a Sacred text and is true. I lack that faith, not being a Christian. A different path is not a wrong path, IMO
